Methodology

Lessons are conducted in a structured yet pragmatic manner as lectures are blended with classroom/group discussions, case studies and presentations. The group discussions give participants the opportunities to share their experience while case studies & presentations help the practice and application of concepts and approaches learned through the course.

Learning Outcome

  1. Evaluate the differences of conceptual thinking, critical thinking, and analytical thinking. 

  2. Examine the fundamentals of conceptual thinking and apply the fundamentals to goals alignment. 

  3. Identify trends and data points so as to develop ideas and solutions based on higher thinking and questioning.

  4. Evaluate the different phases of conceptual thinking.LO5: Evaluate of life skills and experiences and visualise concepts to analyse facts and data. 

  5. Use visual tools to develop models and frameworks to enhance understanding of new ideas for implementation.  

  6. Apply conceptual thinking to analyse impact of future developments on current policies and processes.

  7. Review the relevance and importance of situations from multiple perspectives of the stakeholders

  8. Examine the roles of egocentrism and sociocentrism in critical thinking and develop strategies to reduce egocentric thoughts.

  • Lead Service Designer, Service Designer, Design Researcher, Design Executive, in designing of user experiences for the organisation

  • PME who has the relevant work experience from other industries or sectors wanting to enhance one’s knowledge and skills, to expand one’s job portfolio or to seek national certification/qualification in the design industry specialising in innovation.

  • PMEs and career switchers with supervisory or managerial experience, or individuals in other related industries or wanting to join the design industry specialising in innovation
